South Table Mountain

Fossil Trail Trailhead: June 27 at 5:45pm

Past rides: June 11 and May 20

We'll start a little higher to save some climbing for the kids! Let's meet at the parking area off of Golden Hills Road, near NREL. Officially, this is called the Fossil Trail Trailhead.

The initial climb is kid-friendly with gravel or mostly smooth dirt and a reasonable grade. Once we climb to the top of the mesa, there are plenty of opportunities to branch off in whatever direction the group chooses.

There are NO BATHROOMS at the trailhead.

Parking Area

If you'll be driving, you can park in the spaces just in front of the trailhead. If those spaces are all taken, I believe you can park along the side of Golden Hills Rd as well.

Gravel at the start

Smooth dirt for most of the initial climb
